Annual Arts and Craft Fair
Gather your family and friends together at The Lightbox on Saturday 28 November to tempt all your festive senses as the South East’s award-winning gallery and museum lights up with its third annual Craft Fair.
Visitors will be able to feast their eyes on a wonderful array of unusual and bespoke Christmas gifts, enjoy live music from local bands and indulge in the taste and aromas of mulled wine and mince pies from the Palette bistro.
More than 30 stalls will display a variety of gifts and crafts, promising something for everyone. With beautiful woven textiles, bags and cushions, stunning jewellery, prints and drawings, sculpture, photographs and wonderful Christmas cards to choose from; visitors will have the opportunity to buy something truly special and unique for themselves and their loved ones this year.
The Lightbox galleries will also be open for visitors to enjoy four brand new exhibitions for free. ARTIST ROOMS: Jenny Holzer, with its stunning LED installation is a ‘must see’ exhibition perfectly complimented by a display of Elisabeth Frink’s sculptures and prints depicting her response to conflict outside the Main Gallery. In the Upper Gallery Contemporary Woodblock Prints from South West China provide a fascinating insight into a unique printing process. The Collectors Showcase of Vacuum Cleaners downstairs in the Lobby Gallery will provide a delight for domestic goddesses. In the cinema film installations will be on display to complete an eclectic range of artworks on view.
From 11am -1pm the Fullbrook Concert Band comprising school pupils will strike up a chord and entertain and from 2-4pm the Almac Bisley Brass Band will help shopping go with a swing.
“We are really delighted to be able to host this event again this year as it gives a wonderful boost to the Christmas preparations” said Director Marilyn Scott. “As well as a fantastic array of beautifully designed gifts on sale, we are excited to share this wonderful new collection of artwork with our public. The day will be a real feast for the senses and we look forward to welcoming new visitors into our wonderful building.”
