My work is constantly evolving in response to the geographical areas in which I have worked; the local materials available to me; and the varying artistic techniques that I have employed. From an initial focus on sculpture, my interests have broadened to include land art, painting, drawing and photography. Recently, my principal inspiration has been the exploration of the linked sectors of security and protection, both of which are strongly represented in the natural and man-made world.

My starting point is normally the creation of a powerful central core for each work of art. This element both focuses the viewer’s attention and creates a marked contrast between the central area and the more muted themes on the work’s periphery. In sculpture, this concept involves the use of focal, nest-like forms sited within low-key, complementary backgrounds. For paintings, in the core area there are idyllic towns, islands or worlds encased in solid organic matter.

My works of art have always generated a strong, positive reaction because of the combination of their strong structure; their vibrant colours, and the thought-provoking mental processes that are generated. These qualities have ensured that my works are widely sought after for display in a wide variety of locations.
